The 2024 Chevy Colorado is an ideal pickup for off-road terrains, thanks to a wide variety of new features. We’re breaking down some of the most notable features that make the Colorado a perfect truck for off-roading.

1. Powerful Engine Options

The Chevy Colorado has two engine options that both deliver an intense performance. The standard engine is a 2.7L Turbo engine that’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 237 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,200 to 4,000 rpm.

There is an available TurboMax engine that is also paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The TurboMax engine offers 310 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, 430 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. The TurboMax engine is available on the WT and LT trims and comes standard on the Trail Boss and higher trims.

2. Underbody Cameras

Available underbody cameras give you an enhanced view of the terrain, allowing you to see obstacles and debris beneath your Chevy Colorado. Underbody cameras are available on the Z71 and ZR2 trims.

3. All-Terrain Blackwall OD Tires

With available 20-inch 275/60R20 all-terrain blackwall 33-inch OD tires, your Colorado can take on even the roughest terrains. The 33-inch OD tires are available on the Trail Boss trim only. Both the Trail Boss and Z71 trims have standard 18-inch 265/65R18 all-terrain blackwall 32-inch OD tires, which also offer an enhanced performance on uneven terrains.

4. Drive Mode Selector

The Trail Boss and all higher trims come with Drive Mode Selector, allowing you to choose the perfect mode for your route. These modes include Off-Road, Terrain, Tow/Haul, and Normal. There is an exclusive Baja mode on the ZR2, which is designed for maintaining traction on sandy terrains.

5. Boron Skid Plates

Available Boron steel skid plates help protect your underbody from debris that could scratch and damage vital components. This Best-in-Class feature is only available on the ZR2 trim.

6. StabiliTrak

The StabiliTrak electronic stability control system maintains your truck’s upright position during extreme maneuvers on uneven terrain. StabiliTrak adjusts the brakes and engine torque to stabilize your truck, while traction control reduces drive motor torque to help you maintain control on wet paths.

7. AEV Front and Rear Bumpers

The available AEV front and rear bumpers are durable enough to withstand rough debris and unexpected obstacles during all of your excursions. These high-strength bumpers are available on the ZR2 trim.
